Movie Review: Peeples

Do you remember meeting your other half’s parents for the first time? In May 2013, we get to see Wade and how he will never forget his introduction to the Peeples.

Directing this 95 minute comedy is Tina Gordon Chism.

Making up the cast is some great names like: Craig Robinson as Wade Walker, Kerry Washington as Grace Peeples, David Allan Grier as Virgil Peeples, S. Epatha Merkerson as Daphne Peeples, Kali Hawk as Gloria Peeples, Tyler James Williams as Simon Peeples, Kimrie Lewis-Davis as Meg and Malcolm Barrett as Chris Walker.

It’s time for Grace’s annual family get together. This time her boyfriend Wade wants to go with her, but she
thinks it’d be boring and talks him out of going. After a little time of talking things over with Chris, Wade decides this would be the best time to go, surprise Grace and be able to ask her father for her hand in marriage. Only problem is, Wade really isn’t the right piece to fit the Peeple puzzle.

This one wasn’t bad. It had an average storyline and a funny script. The cast did good but nothing really special overall. You’ll laugh but it’s not really a movie you should run right out to see.

It’s rated PG 13 for language and drug use.

3 stars for a good laugh.
