Movie Review: The Internship

With ever changing technology, how do old dogs learn new tricks to keep up with today’s job market? In June 2013, two individuals grabbed a chance to change with the times and all it took was a little Googling.

Directing this 119 minute comedy is Shawn Levy.

Some of the cast pushing this giant Google movie is: Vince Vaughn as Billy McMahon, Owen Wilson as Nick Cambell, Josh Berner as Lyle, Dylan O’Brien as Stuart, Tiya Sircar as Neha, Tobit Raphel as Yo-Yo Santos, Rose Byrne as Dana, Aasif Mandvi as Mr. Chetty, Max Minghella as Graham Hawtrey and Josh Gad as Headphones. With appearances by John Goodman and Will Ferell.

Billy and Nick are two salesman who just found out from a client that their company has closed it’s doors. With the internet changing business interactions, clients can get what they need at a click of a mouse. While Nick is working at a job he doesn’t like, Billy stumbles across a possible job lead that could be great for the two of them. Working for Google! After they make the cut to even get an
internship that is. All they have to do is compete against a group of bright young hopefuls that are tuned into today’s, and tomorrow’s, technology. With that being said, it should be a walk in the park for these two. As soon as they figure out that C++ doesn’t stand for a really really good average class grade.

The movie was ok. I can’t say I really enjoyed it. Wilson and Vaughn are cool, but together it’s just to much of not a good thing. Funny yeah, script was good, story was questionably believable, but still possible. Overall worth a watch, but for me once was enough.

It’s rated PG 13 for language.

3 stars for possibly the worlds longest commercial. I’ll have to Google that to make sure though…
