We all know kids can be a handful right? In July 2013, Gru not only has
his three girls, but two handfulls of minions to keep safe.
Directing this 98 minute animation/comedy/crime is Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud.
Here’s some of the cast lending their voices: Steve Carell as Gru, Miranda Cosgrove as Margo, Elsie Fisher as Agnes, Dana Gaier as Edith, Kristen Wiig as Lucy, Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, Steve Coogan as Silas Rambottom and Benjamin Bratt as Eduardo/El Macho.
Gru has got his hands full with the kids, minions and starting a jam business, since his turn around to the honest life. After his run in with a stranger named Lucy, he’s taken to the Anti-Villain League where they explain the need for a ex-super villain to help capture a super villain. After some thought, he jumps into his undercover role looking to catch the bad guy who’s stolen the PX – 41 from a secret
laboratory. All the while, raising the girls, trying to stay an ex-super villain and fighting off the neighborhood match maker. No wonder he doesn’t notice his minion population is shrinking!

As always, I never expect much from a sequel, and was pleasantly surprised by this flick. The story was fun and had a good script. Animation was nice looking and clean which is always a good thing. I stayed entertained through the whole thing, without hitting any boring spots. If the kids (or adults) liked the first one, then they (or you) will like this one as well.
It’s rated PG for rude humor and mild action.
For fear of Gru’s freeze ray, 3 stars should keep me on his good side.
