Roommates Ashley and Proxy decide to give a try to an internet urban legend they heard about. While chatting with someone, if you type “I did it for the lulz” three times, Smiley, a serial killer with a huge smiley carved on his face, comes to claim his victim. Low and behold the two women find out

Now, I really enjoy urban legend themes, this one not so much. The legend is cool, the story uses today’s technology against you (always cool) and Smiley is so creepy. The play-through just fell short in my opinion. More thriller/who done it than horror-oh-god-please-don’t-kill-me. After it was over I can honestly say, I didn’t watch this for the lulz. The make-up work was great, again Smiley was creepy looking. Always try to end with something positive mom used to say…
It’s rated R for violence, language, and drug use.
I’ll give it 2 stars as long as I don’t ever have to watch it again… please?
