Baggage Claim (2013)

After you break-up with someone, shouldn’t an ex stay your ex? In September 2013, Montana thought it wouldn’t hurt to check and see how a few of her exes were doing years later.

Directing this 96 minute comedy is David E. Talbert

Some of the big names you’ll see are: Paula Patton as Montana Moore, Deredk Luke as William Wright, Adam Brody as Sam, Jill Scott as Gail, Taye Diggs as Langston, Boris Kodjoe as Graham, Trey Songz as Damon, Djimon Hounsou as Quinton and Jenifer Lewis as Catherine.

Montana has a problem: she’s always the bridesmaid, but can’t seem to be the bride. She knows this because her mom has no problem reminding her every chance she gets. To make matters worse, Montana wants to find love, she just doesn’t know where to look. Luckily for Montana, she’s got two friends, Sam and Gail, that are looking out for her. Together the three make a plan of attack. After they pull this off, Montana will find the man of her dreams and live happily ever after. Which would be great, especially since her little sister’s wedding is right around the corner, and Montana may have said she would be bring someone special with her.

Yeah this is a funny one, but I can’t say I enjoyed it all the way through. I wasn’t really hooked by the story – I need to be married to be happy in life. Now, it does become a inner growth kinda thing but not a strong enough flip over to make the movie good. Just enough to continue the playthrough (which was ok at that), and for a comedy it wasn’t really funny. I was feeling bad for the character, till it was her own doing where she ends up in some predicaments. Then I just waited for it to be funny again. There’s a balance when you’re doing a romance story with comedy, this flick didn’t use that balance.

The cast was great and filled with awesome people. Sadly, you can only do so much with what you’re given, and they weren’t given much to work with. Some people will truly love this movie (I’m not one of those people). Because It’s funny, there’s romance in the air and it’s funny (yeah I wrote that twice cause I couldn’t think of anything else). It’s that low grade of good right before something goes bad. Like one more point and you would get a D back in school.

Summary : It's a average movie, so I'd wait for the rental, there are funnier movies to pay full price for.

It's rated PG 13.
