Justice League: The Flash Point Paradox (2013)

If you could go back in time and change a tragic event in your life would you? In July 2013, Barry found out what he changed was more than just his life, but the world around him as well.

Directing this 81 minute animation/action/adventure/fantasy/sci-fi is Jay Oliva.

Jordan as Cyborg/Victor Stone, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Steve Blum as Lex Lurthor/Captain Thunder, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke/Slade Wilson and Dana Delany as Lois Lane.

Barry, a.k.a The Flash, has saved many lives as a super hero. Yet, the one life he couldn’t save was that of his mother. Even though he was just a child when he lost her, Barry still can’t let go of the guilt. Barry would do anything to have his mother back in his life again. As you know, moving fast was nothing new to Barry, but tonight while he was running, thoughts of his mother filled his mind more and more, fueling him to run faster and faster… What he didn’t know was that run just changed his life. The next day at work Barry starts to notice differences in the world around him that only he can seem to see. Soon, Barry realizes the world he is now in is not the world he’s use to. This new timeline of his life, or memories, start to flood Barry’s head and catching him up on what his life would’ve been like if his mother had lived. Unfortunately, the upside to this newness comes crashing down when Barry finds out what state the rest of the world is in. It seems that a war is being fought between the Amazons and the Atlanteans. A war that both sides will see to the end, even at the cost of the rest of the world around them. Now he’s stuck in a world without his powers and, since they never came together, there is no Justice League to save the day as usual. If Barry doesn’t do something quickly, everything he loves could be gone… in a flash.

I have to say, I’m really enjoying the animated movies that Warner Bros. and DC Comics are putting out. This one quickly went to the top of my favorites list. It has a great storyline with a super playthrough. It has some big names like; Howell, Delany, Perlman, and my favorite voice for Green Lantern, Nathan Fillion. Side note, Howell sounded evil-awesome as the villain Zoom.

The animation, just like the other movies, was really clean and smooth looking, with some awesome fight scenes. Not to mention it was really cool seeing The Flash get the spotlight. Where DC hasn’t been doing so well with live action films, they are killing it with the animated ones.

I have to warn you, just because you see some superheros and it looks like a cartoon: This one really isn’t one for the younger kids. Paradox has about the same violence level as the others. You have to have some violence in them, it’s superheros vs supervillians you know. However, this one is heavier on the gory side of things, like seeing the hole in someone’s head from a gunshot kind of heavy. So you may not want the little ones watching this one.
