Movie Review: World War Z

In a world filled with death and chaos, where do you look for hope? In June 2013, a man kept close to his heart the one thing he would do anything to protect, his family, and with that he had hope.

Directing this 116 minute action/drama/horror/sci-fi/thriller is Marc Forster.

Some of the cast running for their lives are: Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, Mirelle Enos as Karin Lane, Danielle Kertesz as Seagen, Fana Mokoena as Thierry Umutoni, David Morse as Ex-C.I.A. Agent and Pierfranceso Favino as W.H.O. Doctor.

A world-wide zombie pandemic has toppled most of humanity. Now, Gerry a man that works in the UN (United Nations), must race around the world to try to find the source of the outbreak, or maybe a cure. Time is not on his side, and what’s left of humanity is hanging in the balance, can a cure be found? Or is this
the end as we know it?

I’ve never read the book, so I have no comparison, plus this is a movie review. So, here we go… I wasn’t really happy when I saw the first trailer with the zombies, they moved to fast and just didn’t look right, but after seeing the movie I found I didn’t really care as much. Yeah, it’s a freaking cool movie… that has zombies, but the story covers the journey of one man with a lot riding on his shoulders. The special effects were great and locations were awesome looking. Since we focus on mankind and not as much the zombies, it can get a little slow, but never boring.

It’s rated PG 13 for violence and disturbing images.

5 stars for a glimpse of hope for mankind.
